[ Birthdays are pretty important to her. At least, other people's are. The day they started existed was the day that determined they'd eventually meet. Having people in her life stay ( and not die horrible gruesome deaths because of her ) is... pretty special. So she wants to honor that however she can. Celebrating their birthdays seems like a good start. ]

[At that, he brightens up even more. He swipes at his nose to hide a shy smile, because nobody's ever written him a song for his birthday.]

For real? I'd like that; you're our number-one musical talent in Haven, that's for, like, definite. [Well, in his opinion. Rosie jams better than anyone he's met so far.] When's yours? I'm pretty good with my hands. I could make ya somethin'.

[If he missed it, making up for it is key now.]

[ It's about damn time they did... and she's just the woman to do. She's already thinking about what words rhyme with Jesse.

Now it's her turn to be a little bashful. Compliments on her musical inclination are... a little easier received than others. She's still humble about it though. ]

My birthday's today, actually. If Hiruma's right about the date that is. But it's not that big of a deal. You don't have to like... get me anything or whatever.

[She's brushing it off, but he wishes he'd known sooner - had some time to prepare, plan something nice. It usually takes him weeks to make anything out of his wood supplies, especially given Haven's conditions. This is a lesson in taking initiative and asking his roomies first.]

Anything I get you's gonna be real late. Damn. [Implying that he may still get you something (spoilers: he will).] You, uh, would'ja you wanna do something, or like... [He rubs at the back of his head.] Go somewhere? Seriously wish we had more options, but, y'know.

[ Only a handful of people back home had ever known her well enough to be aware of when her birthday was. That hadn't changed much here, she realizes, but... it's nice. Hearing 'Happy Birthday' like the fact that she was born might actually be a happy thing. ]

Dude, seriously. You don't have to get me anything. [ His energy and time could probably be way better spent than on her and something that isn't a necessity. ] I'd... like to go out though, sure. Calypso 'grounded' me after I picked a fight with that Asian dude who blew up Wade so I've been a little stir crazy.
